Wake County, N.C. - (March 17, 2021) - Wake FC has joined the Development Player League (DPL) and will begin play in August, 2021. "As we saw the clubs that would be involved in the league this year, we knew it would be a great level of competition for our girls' teams," Stephen Basso, WFC Girls Director of Soccer. Basso continued, "We are also very excited about the emphasis on college recruiting. In talking to our families, we know a high-level of competition and a clear pathway to college soccer are two of the most important things to them."
Director of WFC DPL, Luis Satorra: "I'm excited for this new platform for the Wake FC girls. The way the DPL roster will interact with the Girls Academy roster will be a huge asset in terms of player development. The college recruiting showcases throughout the year will allow our girls to get exposure to college programs throughout the country."
Wake FC is looking forward to this additional, competitive opportunity for our girls. Open ID Sessions have been scheduled and additional information is found here. Tryout information for the 2021/22 season is coming soon. For any questions, please contact: [email protected]
