Girls Academy League


The Girls Academy League (GAL) came to fruition with the termination of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy (DA). GAL offers an option to DA clubs and other top clubs in their geographical area for their most competitive players to compete at the top level and be showcased to coaches from around the country.

Girls may play High School soccer

GAL fixtures will feature local games, cross conference opportunities, and regional college showcase options.  A championship series will be implemented at the end of the 2020/2021 season.  Participation in GAL will include access to all Girls Academy League and Wake FC college recruiting seminars and other recruiting opportunities along with free access to SportsRecruits to set up their college recruiting profile.  Girls Academy players may play high school soccer.


NPL

Wake FC is pleased to compete in the National Premier League (NPL), comprised of 19 member leagues from across the United States.  Wake FC teams play in the South Atlantic NPL which encompasses clubs located in NC, SC, Georgia and Tennessee.

Our NPL teams compete year round and participate in US CLUB Regionals, ENPL Nationals as well as selected top tournaments and College Showcases throughout the year. All NPL players have access to the same college recruiting program as girls academy.


USYS

National League, NCYSA Premier, First & Second Division Classic, Select and Challenge levels are played through US Youth Soccer (USYS).

WOMEN'S PREMIER SOCCER LEAGUE (WPSL)

The WPSL is the largest women's soccer league in the world and is on the second level of women's soccer in the United States soccer pyramid, below National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Click here to learn more.

The WPSL allows our best youth players to compete with some of the best women's collegiate and youth national team players in the country. 


WPSL Academy Training

This training program takes place predominately during the WPSL summer regular season, May through August, but also includes some in-season training and winter training in December and January.

Wake FC is proud to have partnered with Duke Health, one of three FIFA Medical Centers of Excellence in the
United States
, and one of 48 centers internationally.  Duke Health Sports Medicine is experienced in treating female-specific injuries and their identification as a FIFA Medical Center of Excellence further validates their position as a leader in the football medicine community.  Wake FC's long-term agreement with Duke Health provides Wake FC athletes with trainers, doctors and a clear rehabilitation pathway for their return-to-play.  Part of our relationship with Duke Health is centered around preventative medicine.  We will have concussion baseline testing, ACL prevention measures, a clear understanding of athlete return-to-play protocol.
